今天，人们普遍认识到传染病的新的和日益增长的重要性：出现新的病原体，耐药菌株，临床表达未知的过程，复杂的图片。与此同时，临床微生物学和感染学经历了巨大的发展，以应对当前感染病理学带来的挑战。传染病和临床微生物学是西班牙社会seimc的官方出版物。符合这个社会的科学保证，传播有关传染病的临床和微生物研究论文的双重功能，并通过期刊邀请的最高素质的作者为此目的撰写的文章，为那些对传染病感兴趣的人的持续培训做出贡献。
